Since its commissioning, Shandong Lingang Nonferrous Metals’ 700,000-ton-per-year high-end stainless steel bar and wire project has achieved continuous breakthroughs in output, quality, and sales by increasing investment in science and technology, focusing on technological research and development, and optimizing process flow, injecting strong momentum into the company’s high-quality development.
In the production workshop of Shandong Lingang Nonferrous Metals’ annual production of 700,000 tons of high-end stainless steel bars and wires, rows of stainless steel bars being polished caught the reporter’s attention. Their surfaces were so smooth, like mirrors, that they were particularly eye-catching.

Fan Shicheng, a fitter at Shandong Lingang Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd.’s 700,000-ton-per-year stainless steel bar and wire project, said: “This is a new product of our stainless steel bar and wire project, bright bars. They have the characteristics of corrosion resistance, high temperature and high pressure resistance, and radiation protection. They are suitable for various corrosive environments and can be widely used in fasteners, hydraulic rods, drive shafts, new energy vehicle motor shafts and other products used in high temperature and corrosive environments.”

The project’s continued breakthroughs are attributed to the company’s emphasis on product research and development. Since its launch in August last year, the project has covered a variety of bar and wire products, including round bars and bright bars, and encompasses a wide range of materials and specifications.
Fan Shicheng explained, “We have optimized our processes, such as by introducing advanced peeling machines, straightening and calendering equipment, and polishing equipment. At the same time, we have increased our efforts in new product research and development, as well as quality control in the production process. We have already achieved initial results, which has laid a good foundation for us to further improve our product range and enhance product quality.”
To better meet market demands, the project has also equipped itself with advanced domestic and international production equipment, such as a continuous short-stress high-strength stainless steel rolling mill, which has continuously improved the level of automation and made the production process more stable.
“Our workshop has an automation rate of up to 90%, which greatly improves the stability of our product quality. So far, the company’s daily output has continued to increase by about 20% to 30% in the past week,” said Fan Shicheng.

By focusing on meticulous development and creating high-quality products, the project continues to achieve technological breakthroughs, ensuring its product quality remains consistently high in the market. In the future, the project will attract and drive the clustering and development of upstream and downstream supporting enterprises in the industrial chain, promoting the formation of a complete industrial chain ecosystem.
“We will focus on stainless steel production and product processing, building a complete industrial chain from ‘short-process stainless steel billets to stainless steel bars and wires to stainless steel products,’ continuously innovating, creating ‘flagship products,’ and constantly increasing our market share in the mid-to-high-end stainless steel market, thus opening a new chapter of high-quality development,” said Fan Shicheng.
